Communication Solutions

Solar-powered communications trailers, base stations, communication huts and monitoring technology for remote and off-grid operations

MTGA’s communication solutions range covers everything from lightweight mobile communications trailers for rapid deployment through to large-scale fixed site communications infrastructure built for permanent installation. With over 500 trailers and skids delivered to industry, every product in the range is engineered for harsh Australian conditions, solar-powered, ruggedised and built to operate autonomously in remote environments without grid power or ongoing intervention.

Whether your operation needs a single trailer deployed to a new work area, a base station to anchor a remote site network, or a hardened shelter to house critical communications infrastructure in a cyclone zone, the MTGA range has a solution built for it.

Not Sure Which Solution Fits Your Site?

The right communications solution depends on your site size, how often infrastructure needs to move, power availability and network requirements. Our team works through these requirements with every customer to make sure the product matches the operational need.

Real-Time Visibility Across Your Entire Fleet

The HUM (Health and Utilisation Monitor) is a companion device that works alongside MTGA communications equipment to give you real-time visibility across your entire fleet. GPS location, battery and solar health, trailer orientation and network dead spot mapping, all feeding into a single web-based dashboard. If you’re running multiple trailers across a large site, the HUM turns fleet management from a manual exercise into an automated one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a communications trailer?
A communications trailer is a self-contained, mobile unit that houses the hardware required to establish a wireless communications network at a remote site, typically including radios, antennas, solar panels and battery storage. MTGA communications trailers are solar-powered and built to operate autonomously without grid power or ongoing manual intervention.
What is the difference between a mobile communications trailer and a fixed base station?
Mobile communications trailers are towable and designed to be repositioned as site requirements change, ideal for exploration, construction phases or operations where network coverage needs to move with the work. Fixed base stations are larger, heavier units designed for permanent or long-term installation as the anchor point of a site communications network.
Are MTGA communications trailers solar powered?
Yes. All MTGA communications trailers and skids are solar-powered with lithium battery backup, engineered to operate off-grid without a generator or grid connection. Battery redundancy across the range provides between three and five days of backup power depending on the model.
Can MTGA communications trailers be hired?
Yes. Selected products across the communications range are available to hire as well as purchase. The MTGA Hire range is suited to short-term projects, urgent deployments or operations that need to trial a solution before committing to purchase. Contact our team for current hire availability.
What size communications trailer do I need?
The right trailer depends on the number of devices you need to power, the size of the coverage area, how often the unit needs to move and the environmental conditions on your site. The 110 and 200 Series suit lighter deployments, the 250 and 300 Series handle larger payloads, and the Omni Series provides maximum capacity in a towable format. Our team can work through your requirements and recommend the right model.
Do MTGA communications trailers work in extreme weather conditions?
Yes. All products in the MTGA range are engineered ruggedised for Australian conditions including high heat, dust and UV exposure. The Communication Hut is rated to Region D wind loading, the most extreme classification under the Australian wind loading standard, covering cyclone-prone areas including the Pilbara and Kimberley.
What communications equipment can be installed on an MTGA trailer?
MTGA trailers are vendor-agnostic and can be configured to house most leading communications hardware including LTE and WiFi radios, antennas and associated networking equipment. Custom configurations are available; talk to our team about your specific hardware requirements.
