Hardened Site Shelters & Pods for Remote Communications Infrastructure

The MTGA Communication Hut is a hardened, solar-powered site shelter built to protect sensitive communications equipment in the harshest remote environments Australia has. Fully customisable from the ground up, every hut is designed and fabricated at our Perth workshop to meet your exact site requirements.

100mm thick insulated wall panels and a concrete-filled, hot-dipped galvanised steel frame provide the structure. No ground penetration required. The base uses mass for ballast rather than anchors, which means it can be positioned and repositioned without civil works. High-capacity batteries and solar power keep it running 24 hours a day off grid, with solar panels and masts that deploy and stow quickly when conditions demand it.

Why Choose This Product

Rated for Region D Wind Speed

Rated for Region D Wind Speed

Region D is the most extreme wind classification under the Australian wind loading standard, covering cyclone-prone areas of northern and western Australia including the Pilbara, Kimberley and Top End. The Communication Hut is rated to withstand winds up to 316.8 km/h. Tested at Pilbara mine sites, not just certified on paper.
No Ground Penetration Required

No Ground Penetration Required

The concrete-filled, hot-dipped galvanised steel frame base uses mass for ballast rather than ground anchors. That means no civil works, no permanent footings and no site disturbance; the hut can be positioned and repositioned as the operation requires.
Fully Solar Powered, 24 Hours Off Grid

Fully Solar Powered, 24 Hours Off Grid

High-efficiency solar panels charge high-capacity batteries to keep communications running around the clock without grid connection or generator dependency. Multiple days of battery uptime built in. Completely carbon neutral in operation.
Customised to Your Exact Requirements

Customised to Your Exact Requirements

Equipment, mounting, batteries, solar panels, mast configuration, every part of the Communication Hut can be specified to suit your site. A single 360W panel as standard is supplied and scaled up from there based on your remote power requirements.

Where Communication Huts Get Used

The Communication Hut suits operations that need permanent or long-term hardened protection for communications infrastructure, particularly in cyclone-prone or extreme-weather regions.

Mining

Remote mine sites in northern and western Australia where equipment needs to stay protected and operational through cyclone season, dust storms and sustained extreme weather without ongoing maintenance.

Defence & Government

Remote installations and long-term deployments in harsh environments requiring hardened, self-sufficient communications infrastructure with no civil works requirement.

Telecommunications

Fixed communications infrastructure in remote or extreme-weather locations where standard enclosures can't provide adequate environmental protection.

Zero Emissions on Site

Every Communication Hut runs entirely on solar power. High-efficiency panels charge an array of high-capacity batteries, keeping your communications infrastructure online around the clock without grid connection, generator fuel or emissions.

For mining operations working toward decarbonisation targets, that matters. The Communication Hut produces no on-site emissions in operation, multiple days of battery uptime without burning a litre of fuel. The solar panels and mast deploy and stow quickly for emergency situations, and the system keeps running through extended overcast periods on battery alone.

It’s communications infrastructure that looks after itself and doesn’t cost the site anything in carbon.
