Autonomous Vehicle Technology

Autonomous vehicle infrastructure hardware for mining operations implementing or expanding AHS

Autonomous haulage systems require more than the technology fitted to the trucks. They need the supporting autonomous vehicle infrastructure that makes those systems function reliably on site, the physical platforms housing awareness hardware, the communications backbone connecting it and the charging solutions keeping in-vehicle units operational in the field.

MTGA has been supplying and installing aftermarket technology into mining and support fleet since 2008. The Autonomous Vehicle Technology range is the product of that experience, hardware built specifically for the demands of AHS implementation on active mine sites, where reliability is non-negotiable and downtime has real consequences.

SAB Rapid Deployment Kit

A purpose-built autonomous site readiness platform for housing and deploying site awareness system hardware in the field. The SAB provides the physical infrastructure, ruggedised, rapidly deployable and designed for active mine site conditions, that AHS technology needs to function reliably. MTGA supplies the platform, installs the technology and maintains the systems, delivering a complete driverless vehicle site technology package from a single provider.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is autonomous vehicle infrastructure?
Autonomous vehicle infrastructure is the physical hardware and supporting systems that enable autonomous haulage systems to operate on a mine site, beyond the technology fitted to the trucks themselves. This includes site awareness platforms that house and connect the technology, in-vehicle units that manage zone interaction, and the charging solutions that keep those units operational in the field. MTGA's Autonomous Vehicle Technology range covers the infrastructure side of AHS implementation.
What is the SAB Rapid Deployment Kit?
The SAB is a ruggedised platform designed to house site awareness system hardware in the field, providing the physical infrastructure that AHS technology needs to function on an active mine site. MTGA supplies the platform, installs the technology hardware and provides ongoing maintenance, making it a complete turnkey solution for AHS site readiness equipment.
What are A-Stop Charging Solutions?
A-Stop Charging Solutions are in-field charging units for Caterpillar A-Stop devices, the in-vehicle units that manage interaction between mobile plant and autonomous haulage zones. MTGA offers two rugged configurations suited to different mine site setups, both designed to keep A-Stop units charged and operational without requiring vehicles to travel to a fixed facility.
Does MTGA install the technology as well as supply it?
Yes. MTGA provides full installation and ongoing maintenance support for both products, as well as a broader range of aftermarket technology installation across primary production fleet, ancillary equipment and light vehicles. The team has been doing this since 2008 across major Australian mining operations.
What vehicles can MTGA install aftermarket technology into?
MTGA installs into all types of mobile plant including heavy haulage trucks, ancillary equipment and light vehicles. If you need aftermarket technology or communications hardware fitted to your fleet to complement an existing or incoming AHS, get in touch to discuss what's required.
Is this range only for operations already running AHS?
No. MTGA can support operations at any stage of the AHS journey, from pre-implementation site readiness through to expansion of an existing autonomous system. If you're assessing what infrastructure your site will need, our team can work through the requirements with you early in the planning process.
