Access Control Solutions

Engineered to manage vehicle and personnel entry in autonomous zones and high-risk areas without grid power or permanent infrastructure

MTGA’s Access Control Solutions are industrial access control trailers and skids built to regulate vehicle and personnel entry at remote and off-grid sites. Every unit runs on solar power, no grid connection, no generator required and is designed for deployment anywhere a site boundary needs enforcing. From autonomous haulage zone management on large mine sites to construction site traffic control on major civil projects, the range covers the full scope of remote zone entry management.

All products are manufactured to Australian standards and trusted on major projects across the Pilbara and beyond. Custom configurations are available for sites with specific safety or compliance requirements.

LV Solar Boom Gate Skid

A self-contained, solar-powered portable boom gate access control unit for light vehicle traffic management in autonomous and high-risk zones. Radio receivers and ultrasonic sensors detect approaching vehicles and control gate operation automatically, no operator required on site.

Learn More
  • Plug-and-play DC power system
  • 4 days battery redundancy
  • Engineered ruggedised for off-road use
  • Fully self-contained set-up
  • Zero trenching or cabling required
  • Choose 6m or 8m boom gate
  • Automated vehicle access via RFID

HV Boom Gate Skid

A heavy-duty automated vehicle access system built specifically for high vehicle traffic environments and autonomous haulage zone management. The Siemens S60 boom gate handles the physical demands of heavy vehicle operation, while the solar-powered skid keeps everything running without grid power or manual intervention.

In-Vehicle Boom Gate Control

The vehicle-side component of a complete automated vehicle access system. Installed in each machine operating in or near a controlled zone, it works in conjunction with the LV or HV skid to ensure only authorised, compliant vehicles can request gate entry, minimising unauthorised zone entries and reducing the risk of incidents at zone boundaries.

Which Access Control Solution Suits Your Site?

The LV and HV Boom Gate Skids manage vehicle entry at the boundary. The In-Vehicle Boom Gate Control manages zone access from inside the vehicle. Many operations run all three together: Skids at the gate, in-vehicle control for each machine operating in the zone.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a portable boom gate access control system?
A portable boom gate access control system is a self-contained, solar-powered unit that manages vehicle and personnel entry at a site boundary without needing a permanent installation or grid power connection. MTGA's LV and HV Boom Gate Skids are deployed at zone entry points and operate automatically, detecting approaching vehicles via radio receiver and ultrasonic sensors and controlling gate operation without a manual operator on site.
What's the difference between the LV and HV Boom Gate Skids?
The LV Boom Gate Skid is designed for light vehicle traffic. The HV Boom Gate Skid is a heavy-duty unit built specifically for operations with heavy vehicle traffic, particularly autonomous haulage environments where the gate is opening and closing for haul trucks and other large mobile plant. The HV Skid uses a Siemens S60 boom gate rated for that level of use.
What is the In-Vehicle Boom Gate Control?
The In-Vehicle Boom Gate Control is the vehicle-side component of the access control system. It's installed in each machine that needs to operate in or near a controlled zone, and communicates with the boom gate skid to verify the vehicle is authorised and compliant before allowing gate entry. It's how the system knows the difference between a vehicle that should enter the zone and one that shouldn't.
Do the systems run on solar power?
Yes. Both boom gate skids are fully solar-powered mobile site security systems, no grid connection, no generator, no ongoing fuel cost. They're designed to operate autonomously at remote and off-grid sites where running power to a gate isn't practical.
Are these systems compatible with autonomous haulage systems (AHS)?
Yes. The HV Boom Gate Skid and In-Vehicle Boom Gate Control are specifically engineered for autonomous zone management on AHS-equipped mine sites, ensuring only compliant vehicles can enter active autonomous haulage zones.
What sites are these products used on?
MTGA access control solutions are used across mining, civil construction, agriculture, defence, solar and infrastructure projects. Anywhere a site boundary needs enforcing without permanent infrastructure, from a Pilbara autonomous haul corridor to a remote construction site traffic control point.
Can the system be customised for our specific requirements?
Yes. MTGA can custom design an access control solution to suit your site's specific safety, compliance or operational requirements. Get in touch and describe what you need to achieve.
